They actually aren't billing it as an "iPod case," but specifications don't lie.
Sony will be releasing a soft case with integrated earphones that accomodates players up to 105 x 63 x 20mm (H x W x T). The 60GB iPod measures 103.5 x 61.8 x 19.1mm (H x W x T). Coincidence? I hope you're kidding.
The MDR-CX1W are inner-ear type earphones with 9mm diameter units. They are integrated with a soft case that can accomodate a hard-drive audio player, and this case can be clipped to a belt loop. Four colors will be available: white (W), black (B), green (G), and pink (P).
Connection with an audio player is accomplished using a L-shape stereo mini jack on the case itself. The maximum size of player the case can accomodate is 105 x 63 x 20mm (H x W x T). The cord for the earphones can also be wound up.
The earphones have a maximum input of 100mW, and a frequency response of 6Hz ~ 23kHz. They have an impedence of 16 ohms, and a sensitivity of 100dB/mW. The cord is about 1.2m long, and it weighs roughly 4g, bringing the weight of the entire set (including the case) to about 80 grams. Three S and L size earpieces are included.
