Electronic dictionaries are not cheap, unfortunately for many Japanese students who require them.

Victim:
Mochida of Osaka
Broken Item:
Casio EXword XD-H600
Details of Accident:
Like I always do, I put my electronic dictionary in my bag and took off for school. When I got to school, I looked in my bag, and my dictionary was broken. "Whoa, did it..." I hit the nail on the head. The screen of my electronic dictionary was beautifully smashed by my lunch box.
Damage Costs:
I'll be buying a new one to replace it, so the outlay is about 20,000 yen.
More from the Contributor:
Since the electronic dictionary was a required tool for my English class, I was pretty worried about what I would do that day without it. Of course it's bad to get too hitched on the digital stuff, but I won't get anywhere without it, so I just reluctantly bought another.
